The word

What is petrichor?

Petrichor is the smell of rain on dry ground. Two Australian scientists, Isabel Joy Bear and Richard Thomas, named it in 1964 from the Greek petra (stone) and ichor (the fluid in the veins of the gods).

Is this the same candle you sell on Etsy?

Yes. It is the same candle at the same price.

How long does it burn?

The amber jar burns for more than 40 hours. The 20 oz 3-wick burns for more than 100 hours.

What is it made of?

Soy wax made from American soybeans, a cotton wick and a fragrance oil made without the hazardous chemicals found in some scented candles. We pour each candle by hand in Utah.

How do I get the best burn?

The first time you light it, let it burn until the melted wax reaches the edge of the jar, usually two to three hours. Trim the wick to about a quarter inch before each burn, and do not burn it for more than four hours at a time.
