About Valiant Candle
Valiant Candle makes scented soy candles by hand, in small batches, in Utah's Salt Lake Valley. Our candles are named for books, places, paintings, myths and games, and each scent is designed to put you somewhere: a tavern after a long quest, Thornfield Hall, a Van Gogh night sky, or the smell of earth after a summer rain.
How Valiant started
Valiant began as a line of D&D candles. Kevin Owens, who designs our candles, made a few to set the mood at the gaming table. They sold well, and he had more ideas than fit a D&D theme, so Valiant Candle became its own brand.
Today the range covers book candles, fantasy and D&D candles, mythology candles, fine art candles, holiday candles and more. Petrichor, the smell of earth after rain, is still the one people come back for.

How our candles are made
- Poured by hand in small batches in Utah
- Soy wax and cotton wicks
- Phthalate-free fragrance oils, and essential oils in our aromatherapy line
- Most 9 oz jars burn for about 40 hours

From November 1 to December 31 you can smell our candles in person at the Valiant Candles & Gifts carts at The Shops at South Town in Sandy, Utah.
